Directions from Cape Town International Airport Journey time c40-60 mins, distance c100kms. Leave the airport and get on the N2 eastbound, toward Somerset West. Take the N2 to exit 22, and get on the R300 northbound, toward Bellville. Stay on the R300 until it ends at the N1 and then take the N1 eastbound, toward Paarl. Get off at exit 47, signed Klapmuts. At the end of the exit ramp, turn right at the stop sign. Go straight at the four-way stop, then take the next left, signed Franschhoek. After several km, cross the railroad tracks and turn right at the intersection onto the R45, signed Franschhoek. Take the R45 to Franschhoek.
As you enter the beginning of Franschhoek village, go past Franschhoek Country House and Hotel Villas on your right and then past Franschhoek Vineyards, also on your right (it's a wine shop set slightly back off the road).
Then you will see a small farm building on your right with the word "PIPPIN" written in large letters on the roof. Shortly after this this on your left is de Villiers Straze (street). There is also a street sign for Guinea Fowl B&B here. Turn up into de Villiers Straze, over the first semi junction and then at the next full T junction take a left onto Dirkie Uys. Shiraz Cottage is 200 yards along here on the right. Welcome! Enjoy! |
